Eid al-Fitr (or Eid as it is better known) is celebrated by Muslims around the world to mark the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. It a joyous and highly anticipated holiday that follows four weeks of fasting between dawn and sunset (Eid al-Fitr means "the festival of breaking the fast" in Arabic).
